The best part is that the chest looks intentional in our bedroom without asking for all the attention.

After the first few days, this chest stopped feeling new and simply started feeling right in our living area.

We finished decorating our guest room just before a housewarming, and the chest ended up being the detail everyone noticed. The room feels more grown-up now, but it still feels like a place we actually live in. I was aiming for something that would work with what we already owned, and nothing around it had to change. What surprised me was how much more intentional the room felt from the doorway, especially when I see it from the doorway. This ended up being exactly the kind of update our guest room needed.
