Our entry made the most sense once we hosted a small gathering; the update made more sense once the house was actually busy.

Sunday slow guest-room prep is when this flush-mounted sconce feels most at home in the guest room. It has been part of quiet evenings, busy mornings, and the usual mess of normal life. It feels just as natural during a rushed morning as it does when the house is quiet at night.

Thursday slow family visit is when this flush-mounted sconce feels most at home in the hallway. Walking past it every day made me appreciate the choice more than I did on day one. The wall no longer feels like the unfinished part of the room.

Our hallway started feeling different once this flush-mounted sconce was in place; my son was the first person to say the room felt more pulled together.
