I would choose this semi-flush ceiling light again, though my first idea for the room was not the one we kept.

The first time my parents came by after the room update, this semi-flush ceiling light felt like part of the room rather than something we had just bought. It has been easy to live with on ordinary days. When friends are over, it simply feels like part of the room. I would make the same choice again for this room.

The entry looks more resolved with this semi-flush ceiling light in place. The 4-light configuration was one of the few specific details I had in mind from the start. It works with the rest of the room instead of competing with it. I needed a few days to get used to the room with it there, but that hesitation passed quickly.
