Our Compass designer was building a boat and contemplating navigation when inspiration struck. Based on the simple needle compass - a cork floating in water with a magnetized needle sticking through it - our ceiling light takes significantly more skill and time to create. Our entry made the most sense once relatives came over for a weekend meal; the update made more sense once the room was full of people. The 3-light configuration was one of the few specific details I had in mind from the start. It works with the rest of the room instead of competing with it. I needed a few days to get used to the room with it there, but that hesitation passed quickly.

Friday relaxed family dinner is a surprisingly good test of how naturally this pendant light fits the small eating area. The overall setup feels intentional without becoming precious. The room feels finished but still relaxed.
