With the rest of the room unchanged, it is surprisingly hard to find furniture that feels distinct without feeling loud, and the piece gets that balance right. I like how the piece gives our dining area a clearer point of view without taking over.

For the house we actually live in, I wanted something we would enjoy every day, and this piece has become exactly that in this room. What surprised me was how much calmer the room seemed, especially at the end of the day.

We finished decorating our dining room just before a housewarming, and this credenza ended up being the detail everyone noticed. I was unsure about the overall effect at first, but after living with it, I like the direction.
