Within our main dining space, we use the space all the time, and the sideboard has fit into that routine without making the space feel precious.

I notice the credenza most during the ordinary parts of the day, which is probably the best compliment I can give it. What surprised me was how much the surrounding furniture benefited visually, especially during the ordinary parts of the week. The look has a little more visual presence than I pictured, but it ended up working for the room.

For the mood we wanted in my dining area, it is surprisingly hard to find furniture that feels distinct without feeling loud, and this sideboard gets that balance right. The piece adds definition, but the room still feels comfortable. I can change smaller things around this sideboard without feeling like the whole plan for my dining area has to change. This sideboard is a choice I am happy to keep living with.

In the finished room, the funny part is that the person who questioned this choice most is now the one who compliments this piece. From different parts of our dining area, this piece still feels like it belongs with everything else. I am glad I took the time to choose this piece.
