We finished decorating our dining area just before a housewarming, and this sideboard ended up being the detail everyone noticed. Seeing this sideboard with the rest of our dining area makes the whole arrangement feel more connected. I was hoping this sideboard would pull our dining area together, and it did that without making the space feel overly coordinated. It helped the dining area feel like a complete room rather than just a table and chairs. That is enough for me to feel very good about the purchase.

For our living area, my partner was less sure about the piece than I was, but now we both agree it works in the space. What surprised me was how well it worked in everyday life instead of only looking good on its own, especially during the ordinary parts of the week. The end result in our living area feels like our home, only more finished.

Living with this credenza day to day has made me appreciate the decision more, not less. The room feels more finished, but not more formal, and that balance matters to me. It is distinct enough to notice and quiet enough to live with. From different parts of our main dining space, this credenza still feels like it belongs with everything else. I would make the same decision for our main dining space again.

I notice this credenza most during the ordinary parts of the day, which is probably the best compliment I can give it.
