Lap is a collection of suspension and surface ceiling lights that incorporate overlapping ribbons that encircle the globe of light, embracing it as if it were on your lap. The texture generated by the intersections of each of the interspersed veins of fabric generates a subtle play of transparency and light. The manual wrapping and the blown glass elements endow it with character and humanity. Magnets in the structure make it easy to remove and fit the shade in both mounting applications.

Monday busy cleanup is a surprisingly good test of how naturally this flush mount fits the small dining area. I like it most when the room is being lived in rather than perfectly styled. It works just as naturally on a rushed weekday as it does when we have people over.

Tuesday ordinary coffee is a surprisingly good test of how naturally this flush mount fits the guest room.

Saturday slow coffee is a surprisingly good test of how naturally this flush mount fits the upstairs landing. I like it most when the room is being lived in rather than perfectly styled. A few ordinary weekends made me appreciate the choice more than I did on day one. It has been a genuinely good fit for our home.
