With our existing furniture around it, I was aiming for understated, and the piece landed in the right place visually. I wish I had planned the surrounding pieces around it sooner; once I did, the room made more sense.

In the overall arrangement, there is a more finished rhythm to this room now, and this piece anchors it nicely. It stands out just enough and still lets the rest of the room do its job. I was aiming for a space that felt finished without looking formal, and the overall setup now feels much more coherent. The room feels more finished, but not more formal, and that balance matters to me. I would make the same decision for our guest bedroom again.
