Theodore Alexander Morning Room Cabinet

We finished decorating our dining room just before a housewarming, and this case piece ended up being the detail everyone noticed.

Looking at my study now, the best part is that the cabinet looks intentional in this room without asking for all the attention. I was aiming for a change that would not force us to replace everything else, and it fits the house better than I expected. I am happy with the balance we ended up with in my study.

I had a hard time deciding what our dining room was missing, and the cabinet turned out to be the answer. It stands out just enough and still lets the rest of the room do its job. The room looks intentional without feeling arranged for a photo. It has enough presence to matter without making the whole room revolve around it. I went back and forth on where it belonged before everything clicked.

Someone asks about this cabinet almost every time we have people over, which still makes me smile. The surrounding furniture feels less random now that this cabinet is part of our study. The overall effect in our study is stronger than the individual piece looked on its own. That is enough for me to feel very good about the purchase.
