There is more cohesion in my open living space now, and it happened as soon as this piece went into place.

For the dining area, this piece turned out to be a better fit than the more elaborate options I considered. This ended up being exactly the kind of update the dining area needed.

The first reaction from my family was how complete our sitting room suddenly looked with the piece. It is always a good sign when people notice a change without the room feeling showy. The surrounding furniture feels less random now that the piece is part of our sitting room. I am happy with the balance we ended up with in our sitting room.

The best part is that this piece looks intentional in our open living space without asking for all the attention. I would make the same decision for our open living space again.
