When I look at my living area as a whole, the best sign is that the piece already feels like part of our regular routine in the space. I wish I had planned the surrounding pieces around it sooner; once I did, the room made more sense.

We were still unpacking when the chest became part of our bedroom, but it immediately gave the space some direction. What surprised me was how much the surrounding furniture benefited visually, especially when the house is busy.

I was trying to keep our guest room comfortable rather than overly styled, and this chest fits that goal. I like that this chest works with what we already had in our guest room instead of making the rest of the room feel outdated.
