Friday ordinary weekend brunch is a surprisingly good test of how naturally this pendant light fits the kitchen area. It settled into the room more easily than I expected. It works just as naturally on a rushed weekday as it does when we have people over. The room feels better for having it there.

Our kitchen area felt different after my birthday; adding this pendant light helped the new place stop feeling temporary. I had already decided I wanted a 10-light version, so that detail helped narrow the choice.
