The nicest surprise about this flush-mounted sconce is how settled the room feels without looking overdone.

Our hallway made the most sense once my parents came by after the room update; the update made more sense once the house was actually busy. Walking past it every day made me appreciate the choice more than I did on day one. The wall no longer feels like the unfinished part of the room.
