John Richard Black Satin Cabinet

In the hallway, the room feels less temporary with this piece in it. It has become part of the room without making the space feel heavy. It brings a little more structure to the room without making the arrangement feel rigid. Seeing this piece with the rest of the hallway makes the whole arrangement feel more connected. That is enough for me to feel very good about the purchase.

It is surprisingly hard to find furniture that feels distinct without feeling loud, and the cabinet gets that balance right. It did not take long for the piece to feel like it belonged with everything else. The surrounding furniture now feels more connected. This ended up being exactly the kind of update my living area needed.

There is a more finished rhythm to our hallway now, and the piece anchors it nicely. The end result in our hallway feels like our home, only more finished.
