Instead of changing everything in my bedroom, I added this piece, and that was enough. It has become one of the seats people naturally gravitate toward. It is distinct enough to notice and quiet enough to live with. It has enough presence to matter without making the whole room revolve around it. The room has a better sense of proportion to my eye now. I wish I had planned the surrounding pieces around it sooner; once I did, the room made more sense.

For our reading corner, morning and evening, this chair simply works with how we actually live in the room. The piece adds definition, but the room still feels comfortable. From different parts of our reading corner, this chair still feels like it belongs with everything else. I am pleased with the decision and with how our reading corner came together.

In our living room, the funny part is that the person who questioned this choice most is now the one who compliments the seat. It is distinct enough to notice and quiet enough to live with. The room feels more grown-up now, but it still feels like a place we actually live in. That is enough for me to feel very good about the purchase.
