Ancient Egyptian sculptors and artisans chose to work with alabaster for its soft, translucent qualities. In designing the Volterra Linear LED Pendant, sculptor & Designer Paul Marr Hilliard selected it for the same reason. Its translucence is on display, lit by our LED light-guide, with a wash of up and down light to stunning effect. Each piece of alabaster is unique with natural variations in color and texture.

Our longer part of the room made the most sense once friends stayed longer than planned; people naturally stayed in the room longer. It works with the rest of the room instead of competing with it.

Ordinary Thursday mornings are when this linear pendant feels least like a new purchase in the dining area. The room now feels considered without feeling staged. The longer it is here, the less I think of it as a new purchase.

On an ordinary weeknight, I notice how naturally this linear pendant fits the main gathering area. It has been easy to live with on ordinary days. The room feels finished but still relaxed. I like it more now than I did when I first ordered it.

Our space over the table started feeling different once this linear pendant was in place; my partner noticed the change before I said anything. The room now feels considered without feeling staged. It has quietly become part of the way the room feels at the end of the day. It feels like a change that made everyday life in the room better.
