Skilled Vermont artisans hand-forge and shape this beautiful lighting fixture, reminiscent of a parasol form. The forged metal texture comes through in each detail. Handmade slumped art glass is nested into each of these seven arms. Parasol designer Jason Hancock recommends using a "milky" candelabra bulb for the perfect effect.

When Saturday night rolls around, this chandelier makes the space where everyone gathers feel more welcoming. I had already decided I wanted a 7-light version, so that detail helped narrow the choice. I notice the improvement most when the dining room is being used normally rather than styled for company.

When it is end of a long day, the central part of the house looks more complete with this chandelier in place.

Quiet Wednesday morning, this chandelier feels especially natural in the gathering space.
