Around my birthday, we added this pendant light, and it gave the space the lived-in feeling I wanted. When friends are over, it simply feels like part of the room. It has quietly become part of the way the room feels at the end of the day. The room feels better for having it there.

Thursday busy guest prep is a surprisingly good test of how naturally this pendant light fits the breakfast area. It has been easy to live with on ordinary days. When friends are over, it simply feels like part of the room. It turned out to be one of the more satisfying updates we made.

When it is a late breakfast, the dining area has a clearer center with this pendant light in place. The room makes more sense as a whole now. The longer it is here, the less I think of it as a new purchase. I would make the same choice again for this room.
