The nicest surprise is how much the table improves the eat-in kitchen without drawing attention away from everything else.

While finishing the dining room, I kept coming back to this dining table, and it turned out to be the right call. It felt a bit more noticeable than I expected at first, but the room settled around it quickly.

Seen from different parts of the house, the dining table helps the eat-in kitchen read as a more complete space. I was on the fence for the first day or two, and then it started to feel completely natural in the space. It works just as well on a normal weeknight as it does when people come over. I would happily choose it again for the same space.
