With everything else left as it was, I wanted one strong piece without making this room feel busy, and this worked out well. The space looks polished while the house still feels lived in. The look has a little more visual presence than I pictured, but it ended up working for the room.

From one side of our guest bedroom to the other, the funny part is that the person who questioned this choice most is now the one who compliments this bed. The compliments have been about the room as a whole, not just one object, which I like. It has enough presence to matter, but the room still has breathing space. I am pleased with the decision and with how our guest bedroom came together.

Against what we already had, the overall look is calmer now that this bedroom piece is part of the space. It works with what we already owned, so I did not feel like I had to rethink everything around it.
