Classic Sojourn Gray Onyx Stone Sideboard with Whisper of Gold Accents

A couple of guests have mentioned how pulled together our dining area feels, and this credenza deserves some of the credit. I did not buy it for compliments, but they have been a nice confirmation. The best part for me is that our dining area still feels relaxed even with this credenza giving it more structure. The space looks polished while the house still feels lived in. It is distinct enough to notice and quiet enough to live with. I would choose the same direction again for this space.

It is surprisingly hard to find furniture that feels distinct without feeling loud, and the piece gets that balance right. I was aiming for a room that felt collected over time rather than decorated all at once. The room feels more finished, but not more formal, and that balance matters to me. The room feels better prepared for both everyday meals and having people over. This ended up being exactly the kind of update our dining area needed.

With everything else left as it was, my daughter noticed that the room looked finished the first evening this piece was there. The compliments have been about the room as a whole, not just one object, which I like. I would choose the same direction again for this space.
